BAND CAMP

"JUNE" BAND CAMP 2009.

firstly i must say: without Huimin I'll never make it through this whole camp!
we were both quite unhappy with out groupings (no offense) so we just went off together :D

okay, band camp officially started on Friday afternoon where we were placed into groups named after food. well, i do love Subway but it was so boring i went to Mos for night games :D haha. dinner was better this year, most people were full except probably the teachers? :D

lol. i think Norms was okay! at least Alana and Weiyun did alright. it was great! too bad Jolynn and Valerie couldn't make it ): Night Trail wasn't that very scary but hey, at least we completed all four stations! :D well, horror movies are customs and this year we watched Alone! Huimin agreed to come and join us for the movie even though she was half asleep :D but she went off to sleep alone ):<>

haha after the movie we wanted to sleep but we couldn't! so while LJW and OWY slept, the rest of us took pictures! and the camera, instead of normal clicking sounds has birds chirping and dogs barking ._. so we were laughing like mad :D
what else made us laugh like mad?

at 4 am suddenly-
LJW: OMG I BROKE MY SPECS (since it was stuck together by erm scotch tape, it was already broken?)
everyone burst out laughing

after a while-
LJW: i didn't break it. normally i know if i break it. i'll wake up and be like oh no.
me: but you did. you woke up and said "quotes what she had said".
(LJW trying to deny it)
LJW: i bet one of you squashed it.
Natasha: no? we have all been awake all the while! how to squash it?
me: yeah. and how you know? you have been sleeping so soundly that you snored. (she didn't :p)
LJW: really? (not at all embarrassed) haha oops, my mom told me i snore before but i didn't believe her. was it very loud?

i think i'll miss LJW and her retarded actions ):

so in conclusion: this camp has been quite fun! :D

POP.

finally, after about 3+ years, it's coming to an end.
i must say that i will never regret joining band.
but it does not bring me all good memories.
instead, i must say that besides the people i got to know..
and some events such as the Genting trip, SYF 2009, band is just something i need to go for.

but then because of band,
i got to know Huimin, Bernice and all those other nice people :D

okay. i just went to Orchard with Justine for a simple lunch and guess what?
i spent so much money again! ):

so i met her at AMK Mrt and proceeded to Orchard :D i couldn't recognize her man! she bun-ed up her hair and well, she looked different (not in a bad way). haha. met Pearl and went to Taka where they got Maria's present. WHERE I SAW A REALLY NICE PAIR OF SHOES! well, Pearl bought this pair of shoes she liked while i stared at this pair of shoes i liked. note the difference.
went to Kino and i liked so much stuff man. i want that whole shop! )):

haha. then i went to Art Friend and got POP presents :D man, i'm so nice. okay so haha, you all better start getting my POP present too! hee. guess who Justine and i saw at Taka?

i shall not post pictures with Emily cause i look so ugly ._.
i love shopping with Justine. haha. she says that i have good taste! :D

no. 19 CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School GOLD (screaming)
with honours! (wild stares..even louder screaming)

so we did it! we, the dark blue badges did it.
even though we totally couldn't even believe it we got gold (:
we are the first batch (BAND) in StNicks to ever get GWH.
we are the first performing arts CCA in school to get GWH this year (first people to compete)
first SYF '2009 GWH band!

so waking up at 4++ today to reach school at 5.45 was worth it.
having band pracs 6 out of 7 days of the week was worth it.
getting scolded by Ms Sia and critisiced by everyone was worth it.
cause in the end we improved and we made it.
I LOVE YOU TRUMPETS! ♥

and then Ang Mo Kio Sec was damn sad lah.. they probably overtimed and then 10% of the marks will be deducted! D: so they probably got super high GWH then---> GOLD.
but they were power man!

and of course thank you to all the people who wished me good luck in anyway (:

went with Alana to SCH to watch band concert and some bands were really good! i think Balastier Hill with just 3 trumpeteers is like almost the same vol/even louded than us! D: HCI's singing was also erm, unexpected but not bad lah. haha. i think if our band tries that it would be DDD: more stress after watching SJI band who were good! they were clear and their screaming was like ROAR! ._. well i shall just console myself that Walter said that we were more expressive! (: Flagday was blah. i think almost everywhere there's people doing CIP! D: we collected super little money! but nonetheless it was fun! :D cause...
WE WATCHED CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC! :D
which was a romantic comedy which was super sweet! <3 haha. now that everyone is so stressed out by work and studies, we should take time to relax too! :D and i think this is like one of the most perfect movies where you just watch without using your brain ._. hee.
not a bad day but then had a talk with my mom and our talks usually don't end well ):

VICTORS' GATHERING

okay. this was more of a gathering cum house warming which i suppose was quite fun!
fine, cause i had fun :D

went to meet my special someone -EMILY ._. while Zoe supposedly met hers (: haha. and met with the guys and Zhiwei in amk hub before we proceeded to take 265 (:
went to my house and Eng Chuan was exclaiming his friend lives here. which may explain why i saw a bunch of HCI guys pushing each other into the water last week ._.

apparently we bought too little food and drinks and everything cause everyone was still hungry after lunch.. ): sorry people :/ if you all ever come again i promise I'll prepare lots of food for you all! :D
the movie also can't play after much effort on almost every one's part so we started playing Murderer and 'Pig'! :D which was the best ever! well, most of us played when Huang Bin and Kelvin went to play basketball under the sweating afternoon sun, so when they returned after 1++ hours(?) they looked very drenched.

haha. and so everyone had quite alot of fun which may explain the mad laughter coming from my house :/ haha. i so suay every time i was the murderer i will just blink at the detective at my first try ._.
so i was frequently caught ._.

then we went into the water and splashed around! haha.
Maria and i entered with a SPLASH and well, left with a SPLASH too :D this was the time when Oswald the dummy (who took 165 instead of 265 finally reached my house) appeared and proceeded to jump into the water in his shirt and jeans. he too, realised he got his belt on halfway in the water ._. we realised we were playing with a ball which particularly loved Oswald's head as constant contact can be observed!

then after that Maria, Emily and I went to eat Macs! :D

how neat and fresh we look. you will never know what a grueling and horrible thing had just happened to us!

apparently we did all the work. june was no where to be found when we were busy with the eyeball.

so i got back my lovely lovely lovely trumpet! :DDDDDD
haha. which means i played trumpet at the concert today!

i suppose the concert was okay? without major mistakes, and we generally played okay! :D
but then as Walter pointed out, our staccato needs to be shorter and more detached (our trumpet instructor mentioned it on thursday). so i shall practice harder on it for self prac then! lol. saw a schools playing Merry Widow and thought of our '07 SYF. the seniors really wowed the judges. i hope we can do it too! :D

haha. today's rehearsal at Singapore Concert Hall was quite good! (:
i think i played okay and i was in tune like (hopefully) most of the time! yay!
but then Ms Sia said we will have to cut players :/ so now i must practice even harder! lol.

i seriously think today is sort of like my good luck day!
i woke up at 11am D: (as in the fact i get to sleep till when i want to wake up )
then walked to school where brunch is provided for me (thanks Alana and Weiyun for buying food)
tuned. and was perfectly in tune (: for the first 3 tries but that's a start right? :D
rehearsal was okay i suppose. generally okay but slightly messy..?
but i don't think Alana and i are soft! it's just that 1st play too loudly then Ms Sia said that we were too soft. it's just because Bernadette was sticking out -.- no offence.

mehmeh-ed on our way back to school on i won thrice! woohooo! haha. i have like a flush in all the 5 times we played :D

so that concludes my day.. and tomorrow will be the best V day ever man. i'm spending quality time with BAND. and my fav conductor in the world. perfect. what more can i ever wish for?

i missed my laptop so much since i have like no Internet connection at my new house till now :D
haha. and I'm supposed to be studying for AMaths -.- marvelous and i still don't know how to prove tangent-secant theorem and intercept theorem and all those theorems we are supposed to remember. but at least my L1R5 will survive with EMaths? :D

I HAVE MOVED HOUSE! :D

but that does not mean i won't miss me old house, or the people.. for example Pui San who has kindly walked to school with me in sec1 and 2 and proceeded to drive me to school too! thank you!

okay. i went to for Victors' gathering at Vivo yesterday :D

i flew back yesterday and i almost missed the plane! the reached the airport at like 3.05pm when the plane leaves at 4pm D: (i'm not asking you to do the same. apparently this always happen in my family :/)

but the flight was fun and i watch a movie + bought quite some stuff aboard the plane :D seriously shopping(or just buying stuff) works wonders. since i was so busy, i didn't study for my Elec. Geog test today. which was a huge mistake. cause the test required quite a lot of mugging.. well, what's done cannot be undone :D

i shall go and write my 演讲稿 now which is due tomorrow. i want to get >17! jiayou!

39 days has passed by so fast! it seems that i had just came to BSC yet now I'm supposed to leave already.. ): i will miss everything here, the people, the place, the dorm, the food and everything! (and going back to Singapore means being a sec4 D: )oh wells, but since 天下没有不散的宴席，i shall just treasure the memories of this place (:

i will miss sharing a dorm with Shushien, Maria, Bernice and Zhiwei :D 1103! haha. trying to wake people up in the morning, waiting for the toilet and everything!

apparently China is getting even cooler cause of Dongzhi (冬至). therefore Beijing reached a record of -7degrees yesterday! i was freezing!

but the good thing was that i didn't spend much time in the cold which made it not so bad! :D haha.

time seems to fly by so quickly! Genting trip came and went, BSC is happening and seems to be leaving soon.. and next year is going to be O'levels. which i am totally not prepared for! ):

but let's not spoil my mood now! :D so we shall take about immersion today (: haha. we went to Sanfan Secondary school(三帆中学) and joined the Sec1s (: haha. it wasn't bad lah. and the people were really quite cute, especially this guy :D haha. cause he happens to look, ALOT like my brother! D: so i went to 初一（九）班 with Eng Chuan!

so we had Computer, History, English and P.E. lesson today! haha. they learn animation leh! haha. and it looks quite cute! how i wish our schools will teach us something cool like this! :/ haha. and don't think their school is very old and not-up-to-date, cause they have this super cool LG flat screen television that's linked to the computer so they don't us projector and stuff! HOW MUCH COOLER CAN THEY GET? :D

lessons were... but then since the teacher said we're there not to study but to get to know others.. so i shall not talk about what they taught, except that Biology in Chinese can kill people. yes, including this particular Chinese PRC.

ahhh. i shall do my maths homework now! :D

just finished morning jog and PE lesson so i'm blogging during Physics lesson..
so far the day has been okay and PE is quite fun! i'm taking Table Tennis and it's indoors! :D the place is much better than ours in Singapore!

following that was our daily morning jog-3 rounds round the track! and to think we used to complain about our weekly morning jog in Singapore! D:

BEIJING IS STILL FREEZING! ):

haha. but i'm surviving! :D i think i got more warm clothings and is more adapted to the cold cause i'm feeling better ~~or the weather is just warmer these few days~~.

i went to Tianjin on Monday and visited the Tianjin Eco-city (天津生态城) and was amazed by the effort people are putting in to create a greener environment for the people. even the toilet is energy conserving! haha.

then the food in Tianjin is like WOW! a lot of dishes and we ended up giving quite a lot to the guys... D: but it's sort of because they don't have enough so ... :D haha. and we also visited Nankai Secondary school.. amazing how so many 伟人 in China came from that school!

Climbed The Great Wall of China (慕田峪) yesterday and i saw ESTELLA!　i didn't even know she was in China.. well except yesterday! and i got a HUGE SHOCK when she called me! D: is that fate? :D haha.

i managed to climb quite high and i was like the 34/35/36 to reach there! :D haha. not bad la right? but i was so weak in the legs we took cable car down! :D haha. The cable car was really stable for such a steep slope! people should go and try it! haha. i was like nauseous and my head was spinning after one super short flight of stairs when we first started climbing ... but lovely Wenyi waited patiently for me :D and we climbed the rest together (: the view is simple stunning, FABULOUS! :D

haha. went out after coming back and my cousin came to fetch me :D haha. he always look different each time he comes back.. and he brought lots of nice food and stuff back for us as usual! :D i got Anna Sui! :D yipeeeee! ~~although i still don't know when i will actually start using it.~~

and we sort of "re-celebrated" my grandma's birthday! :D haha. not bad la. okay lessons are starting!

there is only one word for Beijing in December:
COLD!

i wore like 4+ layers and yet i continue shivering! ): where other people.. wear only long johns and don't even feel cold! where's the logic? lessons are okay la.. quite interesting so far cause we only had like 2 days of lessons while other days we go to places like the Zoo, Forbidden Palace, shopping, and other places-both interesting and not. :D haha. but quite okay overall! :D

haha. we spent like only one hour in the Zoo, looking and buying panda soft toys before we were almost frozen and started hiding in the W.C. which was, surprising not at all smelly and really warm! :D haha. some other places were like boring please, i ~~almost~~ fell asleep! D: ~~(but the teacher did too!)~~ okay.

the wind in China is chilly until, well.. i personally think that even a freezer would be warmer than here please! already -10degrees now.. i hate to think how much coooler it's going to get in future! but the places are well, mostly worth it and i think I'm loving everything about the hostel except the heater, the beds and the blankets. seriously, you are not expected to feel cold in the room let alone when you are wearing like double layers of long johns with the heater on at full blast! D: but i did.. and so did everyone! ): haha. and the beds, seriously, are just.. a wooden board with a super thin- 5cm mattress which does not seem to be there AT ALL!

but still, i love Beijing and i love CHINA! :D haha. i shall go and visit Beijing University and Qinghua University tomorrow! :D haha. shall update on Monday then!

skipped the last day of school yesterday cause was at HCI having briefing for the China trip. haha. their school is humongous! if i'm in that school i think i'll be really skinny! haha.

but the briefing was rather boring． lol. we watched this discovery channel thingy which made some people fall asleep and everyone very drowsy! haha. but ｔｈe rest of the talk actually made me more excited for the trip. :D haha.

watched a show last night and the magician is really good! :D

reached Hongkong and met my dad at the airport :D then we went to Disneyland Hotel. the place is magnificant! and very very nice. haha.

8th Nov
woke up at 8 but only managed to get out of the hotel at 1++ lol. cause my dad ws busy sleeping :/ haha. and when we finally decided to go without him, we realised that we forgot to bring the tickets... so we went back and dragged my dad along :D generally walked around and bought stuff for people.. spent over 1k so you all better appreciate it! haha. but Disneyland is quite fun. even though it's smaller than the ones in US and Japan but it's still nice. haha.

9th Nov
continued playing in Disneyland and rode on Dumbo and took pictures with Pluto and Goofy! :D haha. today was more interesting compared to the 8th and we watched Disney parade! it's really really elaborate!

played till around 3pm then we moved to Harbour Plaza hotel :D stayed at this hotel each time i went to HongKong. haha. went to eat the very very nice Japanese BBQ restaurant. YOU ALL MUST MUST MUST TRY IT IF YOU EVER GOES TO HONGKONG! :DDD

went to climb taiping shan(太平山) and it was freezing! super windy! haha. and i heard this amercian saying if he have 8 millions dollars he won't spend it on a house on the peak of the mountain.. he'll spend it on 4 houses all over the world! but the view on the peak is worth it! must see it in person (:

my mom bought lots of stuff! haha. cause my dad kept giving her clothes to try on and pestering her to buy (: lol.

my dad went back to Doha first and so cool got limo kept waiting for him. the driver waited for over 2hrs for him and continued waiting even though he called the driver to go to the airport first.

11th Nov
took train to Shenzhen cause Chinese passport holders must visit another place from Hongkong or else it's illegal or something... :/ haha. so we just went in to Shenzhen then went out D: horribly waste of time.. reached the airport at a record time of 6 when our plane was at 8++?
reached Sin at around 12am :/ but i remembered to sms Jia okay! even though i think she only got the sms this morning..

so this concludes my trip to Hongkong haha. it was :DDDDD

just watching ACE and i think Venus Williams is good! (: haha. she finally won the year end Doha open! too bad Justine retired or else my dad said that he'll bring me to Doha to watch her play! ):

today did not get off to a good start considering the fact that i forgot that Chia's class only starts at 8.30 and stood outside waiting for a good 20 mins before just giving up and walking to school. i hate walking cause it always make me sweat. urgh.

but then the day got progressively better as Biology SPA is not that bad! (: haha. jia you people! and good luck to the Secones who are swearing in today. lol. and i won't be going for Poetry Night cause i'll be in Hong Kong! (: or on the plane. hee. so excited! see, the day's getting better!

then went to watch Sing to the Dawn with my mom and bro. seriously it sucked. URGH. waste of $$10! ): so lame and stupid and different from the original story. they changed it till it's like... #%$^%$#%@ haiz. but then, i bought my new school shoes! :D considering my old ones keep getting soaked by water seeping through and it's really really old! ): but i loved it all the same.

exams are like finally over- after 2 weeks and 2 days of studying and hard work ~~not that i studied very hard!~~ D: :DDD so we went out to celebrate! haha.

okay. since apparently the Elit paper took only 45 minutes, we were dismissed at like 8.45am? D: and ALETHEA, CHRISTINE, LI JIE, ANTHIA, AND I went to ECP! :D we took 76 for about an hour then we walked from Parkway Parade(sp?) :D

we shopped for like 2 hours since it looked like it was going to rain and well, girls love shopping! :D oh. and therefore i want COTTON ON shorts! it's really really nice!

okay. and after shopping for like 2++ hours, we finally made our way to ECP! lol. and guess what? it started to rain. however, it did not dampen our high spirits and we ate and chat under the shelter :D (okay. this sounds surprisingly compo like)

thank goodness the rain stopped fast so we went to eat! and i shared a meal with Ally. apparently we were the only 2 who sort of really ate cause the rest just survived mostly on chips! and yea.. ghost story time and i always happen to sit beside Ally. who happens to scream really really loudly, and try to hide behind me. lol.

FINALLY, it's time to really go and ride the bike! :D all of us rented bikes since they said that we can't skate cause the floor is still wet. doesn't really make a difference to me since I'm not good at both :/ and well.. it was great and we had fun, all till i took a fall and then the bike sort of spoilt. it became super tiring to ride cause it was on brakes all the time and Ally waited for me! :D despite me being super slow! and she traded bikes with me :D and everyone waited for us! :D so sweet! :D

after we rotated to ride on the spoilt bike, it is to no one's surprise that now I'm having super bad muscle ache and i couldn't even move my legs night till now. it's power leg muscle training! i wonder how's Ally now! :/ and my butt hurts from the fall..

still, it was fun and Li Jie bought a watch. the shopkeeper was damn mean la. just cause i dropped the watch then her attitude became damn bad. okay. which was partly my fault.. but still?

took bus home with Anthia and Christine and Li Jie alighted super early! it was a super fun day! :D

now addicted to watching Mary-Kate and Ashley movies. yea. i know it's weird but HBO suddenly showing them like.. alot and well, it's nice too! (: and i miss Winning London!

okay. this may be a long post if i feel like blogging (:
haha. it has been really quite a long time i last blogged and quite alot happened too!

okay. firstly, Friday, last day of school.. actually i felt like going back to PC but then Ally asked me out so we went out! :D
haha. and we watched Wall.E! :D hee. it's really nice and touching.. and quite disturbing! imagine us living in a world like that! D: and i finally ate Subway! :D i just realised it's delicious.. i guess i had a bad impression cause my cousin used to work there and he kept complaining :/

Saturday was taken up by Flagday no.2 and it was... still not very good. we got chased away by the Security guard at Citylink cause it was private property! but then the people were generous! :D like this 2 guys just handed me this whole handful of money and left D:
but i slacked quite alot! :D
Alethea, Jasmine and i went to eat at the Food Junction! :D it's fun!

went shopping with my mom at Taka and i finally bought another pair of jeans and this new pair of skirt look alike shorts (: and the guy at Levis was really nice considering he gave me a 20% discount :D

This past Wednesday May 14 at 16:00 hrs Justine held a press conference at her tennis club (Club Justine N1). In a packed room Justine took the microphone and bared her heart -
serene, happy with conviction.

It's a great day in my life, I believe that you can call it that. I'm here today to announce to you that I am putting a definitive end to my tennis career. I know that it is a shock for many people and a surprise, but for me it's decision I've thought about for sometime now. It is not a decision which I made because of a simple defeat in Berlin. I've thought about it in my head for sometime, for a few months already, since the latter month of 2007. It's an end to a beautiful adventure.Perhaps, people will think that I am still young, but there are no rules. I invested enormously in my sport, since the age of five. I always lived for tennis, and it's without regret because I lived emotions which I will never forget. Images engraved in my heart and my memory, and I am sure it's in the heart and the memory of many of you too.

Today a page has turned. I don't feel sadness, but rather a release, a relief, a glance towards the future. I always seek to build and change, and not only by tennis. I believe that tennis gave me many beautiful things, but I want to do it by returning to the essentials. I based my life on the relationships, the love and all that I could give to tennis. But I couldn't manage to express it anymore these past months. I thought about it a lot. I made this decision by myself in my little corner, with the support of my family, off course. But I wanted to make the decision for me. I am very, very proud. You need courage to arrive at this conclusion.I felt that six months or even one year later I would have a harsh bitter taste if I continued, and that things won't get better than what happened these last few months. But today, I can speak about my sport, all that I lived with a smile, very beautiful things happened and they are in my heart. I have a desire to create new things. The future for me is to live with my decision, and to realize my new goals. To assume it and breathe again. There are no bad things ahead for me. I feel that I have the qualities and capacities, to communicate and raise many new projects. I'm sure I will see things much more clearly when the time comes. The first is my Foundation. It's really very important for me to be able to continue to help these children, to live precious moments with them. To continue to give them a chance to dream. We're here at my home. Right in my tennis academy. This is something which I will continue to support, off course with Carlos. He'll be stronger and valuable here. I have confidence in other future projects. There are peak performance workshops and seminars with Carlos and Nexum/Nexp in the area of human resources.

Of course, there are gratitudes to give. The first of which is to Carlos - I say thank. You are once more at my side. It's 12 years together that we lived , and you held me up. 12 years to believe in me. You never abandoned me. He was always very discrete and standing in the shadows when I won because he didn't want to intrude on my family and friends. But at other times, the difficult moments he made his presence known. He always respected me, and I must say since last week Thursday he still impresses me. The calm and patience he gave me. The incredible amount of support. I know he will always be strong and at my side. I am really very proud of this because tennis is a solo sport. It is undoubtedly my most exquisite thing of pride - the human adventure that I lived with him. And I believe that if Carlos had said to me one day, "Ju for family reasons or some other reason. Please don't feel obligated. You can let me go". It was obvious to me that we would still continue as a team even if my tennis career stopped. We're powerful together, and this is why it worked so well.Our relationship was much bigger than coach and a player. We passed all the tests, but from now on it will be different, it will be more beautiful. I'm grateful to his family - his wife and children who will get more of their father. And the thought of this makes me smile today. It's also a relief to know there won't be these difficult moments, these separations. They really have a big place in my heart. I would like to, off course, thank my family - my parents, Dad, Mom, because I'm here today only because of you. Everything is fine thanks to you. My brothers and sister too. I have to admit that my role as older sister makes me very happy. There are great things which await us. My friends here today. It was great spending time with you and I'm sure there's more ahead for us, bigger things, more honest and stronger. My Godmother is here. Gene, thank you for your role in my life it was very important. My staff obviously. You can only build something large with a faithful team. And they were always available and believed in me. Thank you for being there. It wasn't an individual sport, but a team sport.Thank You to all my sponsors, the current ones and those from the very beginning because without people who believe - you cannot get there. A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE MATCHES

Match Report Masters 2006, Madrid:

Justine defeated Maria Sharapova in the SF the day before and enters this match as world #1. She takes on deposed #1 Amelie Mauresmo, defending champion, and victor of their round robin match only a mere two days ago. Revenge or closure? There's everything to gain in this match, and the third meeting in a major final for this incredible Francophonic rivalry.
First set Mauresmo begins on serve. The Frenchwoman´s game has lifted in each round, but the Belgian forces her to save breakpoints 0-1. Justine equalizes without any problems 1-1. The third game is long, and physical. It´s easy to forget that the Madrid Masters is played on greenset, indoors, the rallies in the third game are clay court length. The two players are a bit nervous, but playing very cleanly, errors are forced rather than self inflicted. After five deuce games, and two breakpoints saved Amelie wins the game.

It´s a strong start for Justine nonetheless, as she pressures Mauresmo´s service game; something which she failed to do in their previous meetings. Justine is fired up, and hyping herself up with mini fist pumps after every point. H-H with another strong service game with no breakpoints earned by Amelie 2-2. It´s the most crucial game for Justine as she serves for the set. No problems for Justine 6-4, she wins the first set in 50 minutes. Second set It´s Justine´s day, and she´s on fire 1-0. The foot speed is outstanding today for Justine, and she´s difficult to track. Mauresmo holds serve as the match goes into a bigger gear, and greater shot making 1-1. A highly charged Justine net rushed only to be passed by a masterful over head lob by Amelie 1-2. The crowd is buzzing, and the tone is electric with shouts for both players from the crowd, a bit more for Mauresmo as the defending champion. Justine is in the zone, and shadow boxing on the baseline during pauses. The Belgian is down to 0-30, but out comes the ace and it´s 2-2. The H-H shouts of "Allez!" are louder than usual today as she breaks Mauresmo 3-2. The Frenchwoman improves her shot making, and breaks Justine´s serve with fine all court play. Justine´s had enough of Amelie´s high shoulder return ball tactics, she runs like a cat leaping forward into the serve and volley, and wins the game 4-3. Superb service hold cutting off all attempts from Mauresmo doing the long ball baseline style 5-3. Amelie on serve to defend her title, and looking a tad edgy. Under immense pressure from Justine, the defending champion falls quickly. Weak replies from Mauresmo. It´s the big 2007 season finale. Justine is trying to break her own seasonal win/loss record. She wants to make it 25 victories in a row. Maria Sharapova on the other hand has found 2007 difficult to generate much momentum carrying a shoulder injury. Surprisingly, Maria only received entry into the WTA Championships due to the withdrawal of Venus Williams. The last time these two elite champions have played each other was a year ago in Madrid at the SF stage to claim the 2006 year-end #1 moniker. Can Justine hold back Maria Sharapova?

First set Justine won the coin toss and chose to receive. Maria starts slowly and caution on serve. The service motion is smoother than it was in the first quarter of 2007. Clean strokes from Sharapova as Justine studies her rival´s mobility by coming into the net 30-40. Maria holds 0-1. Justine´s impressive in her serves, and untouchable 1-1. Maria having problems with her ball toss. The Russian is weary of Justine´s attempt to make the first big break of serve. Maria asks for hawkeye, but the serve is called out. Sharapova unable to hold serve 2-1. Justine lets Maria back into the game with a double fault 2-2. Every shot is played with precision and cool by the players. Games go on service holds 3-3. Justine with a loose serve and under pressure for the first time in the set, but holds 4-4. The tension is mounting. Games go on serve once more. Justine hangs on. Justine in a display of uncharacteristic anger throws her racket onto the floor. Second set Maria continues her flawless form. The balance of the match is not on Justine´s side. The lost of the first set has taken it´s toll, Sharapova looks tired for the first time in the match 0-1. Justine is starting to burn rubber 1-1, and breaks Maria´s serve 2-1. The tone of the match has changed. It´s Justine holding her head high as Maria looks to be wilting. A medical timeout is called by Sharapova 3-1. The Russian finds inspiration and holds serve 3-2. First set Venus Williams elected to serve, but she takes an unusual timed break right after warm-up. Justine waited patiently then pounced on a dodgy opening game by Williams 1-0. Justine on serve and serves are perfect 2-0. The crowd is alive and already into the thick of the match as Williams on serve 2-1. Justine fights off aggressive ground strokes from Venus 15-30, but she hits back deeper 3-1. There´s a slight breeze on Arthur Ashe stadium this afternoon. Venus moves in and charges with heavy duty rapid gun fire ground strokes 40- 30. Williams is hitting immaculate angles 3-2. Justine working her way into this set, and keeping Venus away from her extreme cross court angles backhand 4-2. Justine trying to play hyper aggressive first strike tennis, but she makes a few errors 4-3. Henin smooth on serve. Venus hitting those legendary monster first serves 5-4. Justine serves for the match, but she gets a little anxious 0-30. First unforced errors from Justine and it goes from 40-15 to 40-30. Venus is not going away. Justine slices her returns, but Venus hits super passing shot for a winner 5-5. The American Williams fans applaud with approval. Venus saved three set points. Williams serves and it´s a easy hold 5-6. Justine serves to stay in the set 30-30 and double fault. But she cleans up her serves for the tie break 6-6. Tie break Justine gains the first break on a bad Williams return on serve 1-0. Venus takes the next game on Henin error 1-1. Fantastic down the line winner from Justine 2-1. More forehands from Justine and Venus. The quality of play is outstanding. It´s a backhand winner 3-2. Justine gets an ace on serve 4-2. It´s a net volley duel 5-2. Justine´s turbo charged ground strokes are no match for Venus as she is forced to hit returns later than she would prefer in the rallies 4-3. Venus calls for the trainer. The heat is getting to her. The match continues and so does the Justine juggernaut as she battles from 0-40 to break point on Williams 5-3. Justine to serve for the match, but from 30-30 she double fault 5-4. It´s a lifeline for Venus. Now it´s Williams that serves to stay in the match. Justine more determined than ever to get that match point. Cool ground strokes from Justine and takes her match point on a Williams error.

Stunning Match Report Olympic Games 2004, Athens:

FANTASTIC! Justine played an incredible match! She beat Amélie Mauresmo in one hour and 18 minutes and won the Olympic gold…

First set Athens, 20.53, Justine and Amélie finally started playing! The first points were disputed and we got to see great tennis from the beginning. It wasn’t an observation round, Justine and Amélie had met before, on the court as well as off court. Amélie won the first game, 1-0. Justine evened the score thanks to a series of good first serves, 1-1. The stress was present today, but the Frenchwoman seemed to suffer more from that. Amélie hit two double faults in the next game, Justine hit a backhand winner along the line and won the game: 2-1. Beautiful points in the next game, a sporting applaud from Justine and then confirmed her break, 3-1. We got to see high level tennis in the rest of the set between the number one and number two of the world. Justine served very good and didn’t let Amélie get back into the match. At 5-3 for Justine, she finished the job with two beautiful returns.

In 32 minutes and with a 6-3 score, Justine won the first set, gold was within reach. Second set Justine didn’t lose focus at the beginning of this set. She played offensively, came to the net and won the first game. She played accurate, returned good and realised her first break, 2-0. Amélie was very tensed because of the importance of this event, her opponent on the contrary played a good final and took pleasure in it. Justine was controlling the match, very serene. That reflected in her game and behaviour. In a very calm way, she collected points and waited the right moment to finish off her French opponent. She took a 3-0 lead. But Amélie didn’t let go, she was only one break away. However, despite the 60% first serves, Amélie didn’t find an anwser to Justine’s tennis. She hardly won her own serve game, 3-1, but kept believing in her chances. But Justine was determined, a backhand along the line brought her a 4-1 score. Amélie also kept her own serve. At 5-3 for Justine, she was 15-30 behind. Then she hit an excellent first serve and confirmed with a strong forehand, 30-30. Justine smiled, she was relaxed. 40-30, matchpoint. Again, it was a very nice point, a backhand along the line, followed by a smash, enough to write another page in history: Game Set and Match, misses Henin-Hardenne, 6-3 6-3, game, set and a golden medal for Justine! Justine played very good and her serve was excellent. And Amélie never got the chance to break. No lack of conficence with Justine, the amount of backhands along the line and marching on the net gave evidence of that. She controlled the match, kept scoring and remained patient. Passion, bravery, and with soul she always gave it all on court. It started with her first big honour - Junior Roland Garros winner 1997. She began on the WTA tour in 1999, and the breakout year was 2001 with her first taste of elite tennis in Berlin. It will be in this very city, and tournament that Justine departs from competition. Revist the remarkable moments of one tennis' most astounding champions to ever grace the court.

May 1999 - A 16 yr old Justine & A First WTA title
Justine is ranked #178, and wins her first pro trophy defeating France's Sarah Pitkowski 6-2 6-1 at a WTA tournament in Antwerp. The following week she enters her first Roland Garrros main draw and first grand slam by means of the qualifications rounds. Justine plays American champion Lindsay Davenport in their first career meeting. After two hours of tennis Davenport tamed young Henin. The young Belgian held a match point in the 3rd set, but the American Champ escapes 3-6 6-2 5-7. Justine reaches a career high of #69 the week after Roland Garros.

2000 - Justine meets the Number 1 Player
She makes the main draw by qualification at Hobart, Australia and gets to the quarterfinals. Justine is defeated in her first career meeting with American Chanda Rubin at the quarterfinals. Things are moving upward very quickly for Justine as she enters the Australian Open, and meets the #1 player Martina Hingis in round 2. Justine loses to Hingis 6-3 6-3. A lull of tournament action for young Justine as she hold injuries only to return on grass season. Jousting Justine builds her reputation as she takes on Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario in round 1 at Wimbledon and takes her to three sets 1-6 6-1 1-6. It's at the US Open later that year in which Justine is truly introduced to the international tennis fans on a center court match against Anna Kournikova. Rookie Justine defeats the then glam queen of tennis 6-4 7-6, and is defeated by Lindsay Davenport in two sets at the quarterfinals.

2001 - The explosion heard at Wimbledon
Justine starts the year again in Australia and wins two tournaments. She gets to the 4th round in Melbourne. Justine is now at her new career WTA ranking of #20. Justine meets Venus Williams in Berlin in the 3rd round and wins 6-1 6-4. The Belgian hits the wall in the third set with American champion Jennifer Capriati and retires the match at 2-6 6-4 1-2. A new benchmark for Justine as she reaches the semi-finals at Roland Garros only to lose by countrywoman Kim Clijsters in three sets 6-2 5-7 3-6. The momentum is unstoppable as Justine gets to the Wimbledon finals, but drops to Venus Williams in three sets 1-6 6-3 0-6. Justine joins Clijsters later in the year and gives Belgium a Fed Cup trophy.

2002 - Justine new Tennis world #5
No longer an outsider she reaches the quarterfinals in the Australian Open only to be halted again by countrywoman Kim Clijsters 2-6 3-6. Justine's first big tournament victory will be against the best player of the year Serena Williams in Berlin. Henin loses to Serena Williams a week later in the finals at Rome. The pressure builds, and Justine leaves Roland Garros in round 1 to Aniko Kapros 6-4 1-6 0-6. Justine ends the year on a career high of World #5.

2003 - Number 1 with A bullet
Justine takes her tennis into bigger hunting grounds and guns for the American champions. It starts at the Australian Open in Melbourne with a 3 hour marathon in the 4th round with Lindsay Davenport. Drama, heat and cramps, but Justine wins 7-5 5-7 9-7. More titles will follow in Charleston and Berlin. But it's the semi-final with Serena Williams at Roland Garros that will rock the tennis world. Justine finally defeats Kim Clijsters world #1 on the biggest stage and match between them in their young careers. Justine win Roland Garros. Back to the USA and again Justine challenges and takes down an American champion. This time it's Jennifer Capriati. Henin meets Clijisters in another finale, and it's Justine that is victories. Justine is officially crowned World #1 in Zurich.

2004 - Gold Medal
Justine wears her #1 badge with honour to win her first Australian Open, but the stress and intense drive to reach goals takes a toll on her body. Justine after victories in Dubai and Indian Wells will go off tour victim to Cytomegalovirus. Roland Garros will only be a cameo with a loss in the second round. Justine returns with no matches played since May to win the Gold medal at the Olympics in Athens in August. She will play an epic semi-final against Anastasia Myskina and win the final over Amelie Mauresmo in the gold medal match. Another short cameo and early round loss at a major, this time in Flushing Meadows. Justine ends her 2004 season immediately after New York.

2005 - The Queen of Clay
Justine goes to Sydney, but is with injury, and returns back to Europe. Her return tournament is Miami where she is halted in three sets by Maria Sharapova in the quarterfinals.. The Belgian heads to green clay in Charleston and is victorious. The clay streak carries over to Europe at Warsaw and Berlin. At Roland Garros a mighty quarterfinal match with Svetlana Kuznetsova lifts Justine toward her second title in Paris on clay. The Kuznetsova match goes to three sets, and the Belgian fights of match points in the last set. Justine roars to life and finds her form to peak at the finals against Mary Pierce. The 2005 finale becomes the second shortest matches on record at Roland Garros clocking in at only 62 minutes at 6-1 6-1. The scoreline is a homage to Justine's idol Steffi Graff. The celebrations end with a hamstring injury at Wimbledon and only one other tournament will played; a cameo at Filderstadt.

2006 - The Finalist
After a problematic 2005 of injuries, the year begins well for Justine. She wins Sydney, but again hardship for the Belgian. Justine suffers illness due to a reaction in medication taken in an attempt to cure her shoulder problems. Justine retires in the second set at Melbourne. Heart sunk low Justine finds new life in Dubai and defeats Maria Sharapova. Justine hits a semi-final funk in Indian Wells, Charleston and even Berlin. But Roland Garros stays true to her, and Justine wins in Paris for her 3rd clay major. A victory in Eastbourne England on grass follows a finale in Wimbledon. Once more Justine finds Mauresmo difficult to break in the third set. A summer in Toronto and another final with Kim Clijsters. It's New York and a thriller with Jelena Jankovic at the semi-finals. Hopes again for Henin fans. Maria Sharapova takes the US OPEN title, but Justine continues. It's Fed Cup in Belgium, but one match too many. Justine plays with an injury and is unable to continue in the deciding doubles match against Italy. Justine returns for the WTA Championships in November with no warm-up tournaments and risks it all to regain the #1 ranking against rivals Maria Sharapova and Amelie Mauresmo. Justine wins and becomes #1 once again.

2007 - A Break and Different Symmetry
Justine is missed in Australia as she reveals that off court personal problems with marriage has halted her tour activities for the moment. She returns at Gaz de France Paris indoors, and makes it to the semi-finals. Justine takes to the desert of the Persian Gulf and wins Dubai and Doha. She heads Stateside to present one of the best finals Miami has ever seen on center court with Serena Wililiams. More tropies in Warsaw and a semi-final in Berlin. Justine is crowned the clay queen of the decade with her 4th Roland Garros. Wimbledon brought new highs, but Henin is stopped by a very surprising Marion Bartoli. The Justine tour continues to Toronto, and it's another title success. American tales with the Williams sisters take on an almost folklore tone as Justine wins her second US OPEN trophy by defeating the sibling champs in succession. No set is dropped at the US Open by Justine. The fall tour brings Justine back to Europe with wins in Filderstadt and Zurich. The year ends in one of the longest WTA finals in history and of Justine's career, and Maria Sharapova's. The final clocks in at an unbelieveble 3 hours and 40 minutes. The perfect finish for Justine - she is crowned again world #1.

2008- A New Novel
Justine wins Sydney, but taken down by rival Maria Sharapova in the quarterfinals at Melbourne in the Australian Open. Justine wins her homecoming tournament in Antwerp. But gets one last meeting with Serena Williams in the American's local tournament; the Sony Ericsson Open. Justine and Serena Williams are defeated in Berlin on red clay by Marat Safins' younger Sister Dinara Safina - who goes on to win the title. On June 1st 1982, Liege, Belgium the day of the quarter finals of Roland Garros (French Open), Justine Henin, one of the world’s best tennis player or the era was to be was born. She got the love for sport through her sportive environment. At the age of 2, a hazard made her move to Rochefort at only a few meters from the local tennis club where she played tennis for the first time. At the age of six, Henin joined Tennis Club Ciney. Her coaches discovered her talent immediately. Henin outclassed the other children in training sessions, and she was very ambitious. Her mother routinely took the young Henin across the border to France to watch the French Open. Henin saw the 1992 final involving her idol Steffi Graf and Monica Seles. Although Graf lost, the experience impressed Henin, who apparently told her mother, “One day I will play here and I will win.”

When she won the junior's of Roland Garros, she had to face reality and stop studying to become a professional player in 1999, a start in her career. Justine Henin gave Belgium her first Grand Slam title on June 7 2003. After she won over Serena Williams in the semi final and took care off Kim Clijsters in the final. It’s been said that the year 2003 would be Justine’s year. Winner of two Grand Slams and five other tournaments, it is logic that the champion would be on the number one spot of the world by the end of the year.

From January 2004 on, we can say that she still craved for victory. She won the two most important tournaments in Australia: Sydney and Melbourne. Everything went well until the beginning of the spring: a nasty virus that will jeopardise the future of the champion’s season, just a few days before the beginning of the clay season. Not fully aware of the evil effects of her disease, Justine tries to defend her title at Roland Garros. After Paris, she took the decision to leave the circuit for a while and to take care for herself. But you can never be sure whether this virus is completely gone or not. That’s why Justine took the courageous decision to go to the Olympics in Athens, without really knowing how sick she was. After a false start, she almost achieved perfection during the semi-final against Anastasia Myskina and won the only Belgian golden medal in Athens. This is, she said with great emotion, the most beautiful victory in her career.

Convinced that she finally got rid of the virus once and for all, she flies over to New York for the next tournament. Unfortunately, her body disagrees and she pays the price: Nadia Petrova defeated her in the fourth round. This was her last match in 2004. She then withdrew from the 10 remaining tournaments of the year in an effort to recover her health and improve her fitness.

After her recuperation, she made it back in 2005 and clinched several awards, however still not making it as No.1 again. The final breakthrough was in 2007 when Justine won the Rogers Cup Tier I event in August in Toronto.

She has won six Grand Slam singles titles, including four French Open singles titles (four of the last five and the last three, consecutively). She also has won a WTA Tour Championships singles title. Some tennis experts cite her mental toughness and her one-handed backhand (which John McEnroe has called one of the best backhands of any male or female player) as reasons for her success. However, her own hard work and talents in the sport also played a great part.
Justine Henin married Pierre-Yves November 16, 2002, in the Château de Lavaux-Sainte-Anne. However, Henin withdrew from the upcoming tournaments in Australia, including the Australian Open on January 4, 2007 due to personal problems. Various news agencies reported that she intended to divorce. She has since confirmed on her official website that she has separated from her husband and she also resumed her maiden name, Justine Henin, instead of Justine Henin-Hardenne. Her divorce and a serious car accident of her eldest brother helped to clear the path for Justine to make contact again with her close family (which she communicated very openly in the local press). During the 2007 French Open, her brothers and sister attended her matches for the first time in her professional career.

Henin is a versatile, all-court player and can hit all the fundamental shots with proficiency. She plays with a rare combination of both finesse and power which allows for her success on all surfaces.
Her one-handed backhand, a rarity in women's tennis, is one of the most powerful in the game as she has the ability to hit with various spins and can produce winners from virtually any angle on court. Her backhand is also known for its great disguise, as she can produce excellent drop shots much to her opponents' surprise. Her slice backhand is one of the best in the world.
Despite her relatively small size, Henin as a deceptively strong serve which is capable of reaching 115 mph. She accomplishes this in part by copying the "Roddick Serve" or abbreviated service motion made famous by the world's fastest server Andy Roddick.
Her footwork, balance, and court coverage are exceptional - most notably on clay - and she is adept at changing from a defensive style to an aggressive one. In the past few years, Henin has worked on her volleying skills, sometimes even employing serve and volley tactics, adding that to her already vast arsenal of shots.

i don't know what's with some guys who like to keep it long their last fingernail long (no offence to people who do) but i seriously don't like nor get it. what do you use it for? i find it weird too. and ______ keep it too! o.o like serious when i saw it i was like staring!

okay. today was okay :D i think some teachers are really nice while others are well... urgh. and Mavis cut her finger today! o.o blood was flowing at alarming rate so she used a dirty piece of rag and pressed it to her finger! O.O how much cuter can she get?

today was da bomb! :D
the Band concert was <333

haha. it was super interesting and NICE! super super super super NICE! :DDDD lol. especially the second interval where they danced and played really lovely songs. and i love that Trumpeteer! :D SHE EVEN HAD A SOLO! :DDD haha. i was really happy when i saw her solo! :D <33>

they were really disciplined and neat. i wonder how it'll look if Ms Sia tried that on us. o.o haha. I TOOK PICTURE WITH MIKA! (: haha. she was wonderfully nice and she managed to keep looking surprised. wheeeee.thank goodness i went for it! :D haha. it was worth my money and i took nice pictures too! (which i shall post another day when i get the cable)

piano exam yesterday was HORRIBLE. the examiner was really nice to me and i think he was really trying to help me to pass. BUT i made super many mistakes, don't know how to answer. great. but at least it's over! :D

haha. today was quite fun la. had 4 exchange pupils from Wu Xi in China and apparently i took one guy around cause they claimed that i can speak chinese. o.o yea. but he was nice. yes, Jiaying, he actually knows Mingdao and thinks he's shuai O.O oh. and i realised all china exchange people all give the same stuff. i got like 3 sets of that kind of dolls already!

Geog test was really really really HARD! and i totally never study the part they tested! )): haiz. i'm so going to fail! ): NOOOO!

BUT for the second time in my life, I PASS MY AMATHS TEST!

(which don't really help cause the average sucks anyway.)

haha. bought my metal pencil case but couldn't find me Mango wallet! ): it's all sold out! urgh. but then i guess i can save my money? lol.

random thought, i want CHANEL wallet! :D Agnes B would be fine too! and the bags from there are nice too :D that can be my birthday present! :D cool eh?
